Midpoint Reflection

My internship was different to my expectation, during the past two weeks of my internship i had enjoyed working with kindergarten and third graders, during my four weeks of internship i started to dislike it because some of the kindergartener were acting as if they were in junior high school student, now that i have spend most of my the time with the kindergartener they've started to treat me as their peer. The similar culture about my internship environment compare to my school is that they have poster of their history, the school that i provide education for have a black history, all black heroes who fought for African and American's freedom and right including Marting Luther King jr and Malcolm X. This is similar to my school because we are all studuying American history so we can pass it down to our children some day. It different because my school is a multiculture school while my internship have few divercultural, for example when we have a party in my school we have various song like Reggaeton (Spainsh), Zouk (Haitian), and Couper Decaler (African) but the place i work for had one type of song when they had party which was hip-hop. I think various culture is better because you can learn others culture which can help you make friends. I think my relation with my mentor is like teacher and student because she tell me her story like how she made it through high school and college which was the hardest thing for her, and sometime when i need help with something, she explains it to me by doing an example. My relation with my co-worker is being proffesional like when i'm passing through the hallway we just greet each other in respectful way. I think i have improved my spoken English skill and a lot work involve talking such as teaching, and doctor because and i have been practing this skill by communicating my mentor and the kindergartener. I've been trying to improve my writen english by checking my vocabular erors. The challenge that i had while interning at my intership was working with kindergartener because they've been behaving really bad and I have overcome it by being strict with them. Many people such as myself may not believe that schedule are important but it could cause to fail a class, or get fired. they are important because they keep on task, help you plan on what to do, and remind you. The goal that i've set for myself is to be organized and to stay on task and plan my goals.
What I've learned throughout this internship is that people are open minded and if you have something to tell someone don't be afraids to express your feeling, I do it with mentor and if i have something important to tell her i will tell her.

Four Weeks in Internship

The full name if my internship site is "Change for kids." My site provide education for young children such as teaching them how to read and help them with their homework. I usually help the kindergarten with their classwork and i also play with them in the playground. I help the third graders with their classwork, homework and sometime I would give them homework to prove me how much they've learn. I think my mentor is very helpful, she gives me advice and also tell me what she had experience in her years of teacher. Some of the memorable moment that i had in my first three week is that one of the children said he wish that i will have to come everyday and play with them. Three of quality that I have noticed about my mentor in the last four weeks of internship is she Helpful, optimistic, and neediness. I really enjoy playing with the kids because it fun and I want them to enjoy their childhood. My most challenging part of the internship is working with the kindergarten because sometime they get mad and act in a disrespectful way.
